I have a couple of the B.O.S.S. kits and they are quite well thought out. For everything that’s inside these kits, you can’t put these together yourself for the same amount of money. These kits are meant to help you in every sense of the word.
This fire starting kit is one of the best on the market. Whether you’re just starting out or whether you have experience, this kit has all the necessary items in it to help you make tons of fires.
The only thing that I wish it had was a low down of how each item is useful when it comes to fire making. It does come with a little piece of paper that talks about a couple ways to make a fire, which is nice, but just wish it talked more about the actual contents. While I’m aware of what every item does, someone who isn’t as experienced might be confused on how to use some of the items.
Regardless of that, there’s always Google and whatever you don’t know how to use, search it and you’ll be able to find a quick answer.
This kit is able to make many, many fires. I was able to take everything out and even successfully put it all back in, which is a big plus with these types of kits! It’s always easy to get the stuff out, but not back in, right? Not in this case. It all fit back in nicely. Not exactly how it was when I got it, but at least it all goes back in there.
There’s no fluff in these kits. You get more than what you pay for and you have quality items that will last quite a while. You can throw this kit in your bug out bag, get home bag, car kit, bushcraft kit, EDC or where ever. It’s just nice to have around!
Making your own kits is a lot of fun and great for building expertise and experience with your items, but it never hurts to stash away a couple pre-made kits. Just be sure you know exactly how to use each and every item before putting it away somewhere.
I did an official review of the kit below:
