Drink This DIY Herbal Tea When You’re Feeling Sick

Honestly, I’ve never been a tea fan. But I think it’s because I kept buying teas that I was ultimately unhappy with and didn’t provide me the benefits that I was looking for.
Recently, I wrote blog posts about alternatives to antivirals and alternatives to antibiotics and many of those items can be used with food or be made into an herbal, healing tea.
I was feeling under the weather with a sore throat and stuffy nose, so I decided to try an herbal tea of my own creation based off of the herbs mentioned in the above articles.
On the first day, I drank it right before bed and I felt 100x better in the morning. But by the end of the 1st day, I was feeling a little ‘bleh’ again. Not as bad as the first day, but bad enough. I drank the same tea again right before bed and when I woke the next day, I felt healthy. By the end of the second day, I wasn’t feeling terrible, but decided to drink it again. And in the morning, felt fantastic.
Mind you, I was skeptical before going into this, I really had no expectations about any miracle cures. I figured it might reduce symptoms, or might not, but not complete get rid of them!
I’m sold on this herbal tea. It’s my go-to when it comes to maintaining health and reducing cold and flu symptoms and to maintain health.
Here’s the recipe:
- 1 tbsp freeze dried oregano (or 2-4 fresh leaves)
- 2-4 fresh mint leaves (or 1 tbsp freeze dried mint)
- Half squeezed lemon (or 1 tbsp freeze dried lemon)
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- Get crazy with the honey
Boil some water (around 1-2 cups, depending on how much you want to drink), add above ingredients to the water, mix up and let steep for around 10 minutes or so.
Place a strainer over a cup (cheese cloth or coffee filter) and pour the water into the cup through the strainer. The leaves from the mint and oregano should be left behind on the strainer.
Drink up!
This is not a miracle cure and it may take a few times of taking this, depending on sick you are, but the above ingredients have amazing antibacterial and antiviral properties.
Stay well, my friends!
Thank you for all your information Morgan!
I had a temperature of 104 a few years ago; my head felt like it was going to burst; of course I was soaking with sweat; my body felt like it’d been run over by a Bus; my nose was ‘streaming’ even though it was blocked up; I had this strange itch deep inside my pelvic area & was feeling like I had to urinate at least x 50 or more times/day – I really felt like ‘death, warmed up’. I don’t go to Doctors or take pharmaceutics so I got 2 x freezer bags & divided a cut up onion between them. Put my feet in them, using elastic bands to secure them overnight (had to be very careful going to the loo as they are extremely slippery!); I also cut up another onion & left it on a plate beside my bed; I boiled up distilled water with Thyme leaves & simmered for 10 mins, strained & added Manuka honey. – drank this several times throughout the day; Took a few drops of oregano pure organic oil mixed with a teaspoon of organic olive oil several times/day; Took Vitamin C (3,000mg every few hours) until I’d cramps & diarrhoea – think I’d had approximately 18,000mg by that point?, then I reduced the amount to approx 8,000/day, & less each day; I also took lots of vitamin D3 (4,000IU) with Zinc, Magnesium & a spray of Vitamin K2 regularly. I ate vegetable Broth & chicken soup with a little bread & butter, eggs & tomatoes & some fruit. Each day I felt dramatically improved. Was able to work again within 3 – 4 days! (I didn’t take anything to bring down my temperature – just cool wet flannels to sooth) If this had happened this last 18 x months … I’d think I was experiencing ‘Covid’?! – which I believe requires Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine plus Zinc & Erythromycin to get better. Hope this helps some one.
Sending love xx
Glad you find what works best for you.
