Best Collapsible Water Bags – Emergency Preparedness & Survival

collapsible water and food bags

I’m a huge fan of collapsible things. Collapsible water bottles, collapsible bowls, collapsible cups; collapsible everything!

Because when it comes to bugging out, backpacking, hiking, car kits, full time RV life or even just around the house, anything I can do to save space is ideal.

I’ll be using the term ‘collapsible’ pretty loosely. Basically, anything that can be folded or broken down easily and reused is collapsible in my book.

Let’s not waste anymore time!

Here are the best collapsible water bags for emergency preparedness, full time RV living and survival:

Smart Bottle

I love anything and everything from Smart Bottle Inc. I carry the above water bottle on my backpack. Then we have several of their collapsible gallon containers for our RV and car. We use them regularly and have even put them through the test.

I love these collapsible bottles and containers and they’re affordable! Check them out!

Collapsible Canteens

These collapsible canteens are great to roll up in your backpack, underneath car seats, etc. What’s great about the one pictured is that you can connect a Survivor Filter to it and drink the water straight from the bag, through the straw. It’s awesome. There are many different kinds of these collapsible canteens on the market, but I specifically like this one because of the added bonus of being able to use it with dirty water and the Survivor Filter.

Large Water Bottle

In addition to the Smart Bottles and the canteens, we also use large collapsible bladders. We mostly use this in our vehicle, it’s always filled with water and we use it quite often to fill our water bottles. These can easily be used for any purpose.

Water Bladders

I’m a big fan of water bladders. I use them every time we go for a hike, whenever we’re camping, we have them in our vehicle and I use one in my BONCH (bug out bag). Some people complain about the taste that comes from water bladders but I’ve never experienced any bad taste. Be sure to only put water in it and there shouldn’t be any problems.

It will need to be washed properly every once and a while as well.

Water Bags

This option may not jive with everyone and that’s ok, this is just another idea. When it comes to creating survival kits, having water collection options could be limited. I love these food grade bags to use out in the field for collecting food or water. If you find different ones than the ones I’m sharing here, just make sure they’re food grade. These are a lot like ziploc bags except these have a smaller zipper, but it’s still a strong zipper and bag and fairly easy to carry.

More and more they’re coming out with all sorts of collapsible stuff. We have collapsible dog bowls, collapsible cups, even a collapsible colander! They save space, they’re lightweight and many of them come with a carabiner (or one can be added) to easily attach to the outside of any pack.

What other types of collapsible things do you like?
