Fitting Fitness Into Your Everyday Routine – National Preparedness Month

prepper fitness

I’ve always said that you don’t need “official” weights to lift weights, unless you want to do something very specific but general toning and gaining strength.

I’ve been using these water containers by Wolverine Tuff which acts as the perfect kettle bell.

Many things can be a weight! Even your kids! If you want to do something, just do it.

Sometimes, all I have time for is 5-10 minutes throughout my day. I will lift for 5 minutes at some point, I go for a walk with the kids some point in the day and I’ll also do about 5-10 minutes of yoga.

I don’t need to go the gym. I don’t need to buy “official” weights. I have nature in my backyard, or really close by.

  • Go for a walk around the neighborhood
  • Go for a hike once a week
  • Jog in place
  • Do some stretches at home throughout the day
  • Put on a backpack and do your normal daily routines
  • Lift some rocks
  • Lift some gallons of water
  • Play a sport with your kids

If you want to go to the gym, that’s perfectly fine! More power to you! If you want a whole home gym setup, that’s great! More power to you!

There’s no right or wrong way to do any of this. My point is to make it work however it’s going to work out for YOU.
