3 Ways To Make Your Own Hand Sanitizer

how to make your own hand sanitizer

We all know that washing our hands is the best way to stay hygienic. However, there are many instances in which we can’t get to a sink and instead, will use hand sanitizer.

Of course, the next time you reach a hand washing station, definitely do so immediately.

The coronavirus created a world-wide shortage of hand sanitizer. However, you can easily make your own!

Here are 3 different ways to make your own hand sanitizer:

Method #1: Alcohol and aloe vera gel

  • Get a spray bottle or reuse an old bottle of hand sanitizer
  • Pour 2/3 part isopropyl alcohol 70% or above
  • Pour 1/3 part aloe vera gel
  • Shake then apply and rub in until dry

Method #2: Alcohol, witch hazel and vitamin E oil

  • Grab a spray bottle or reuse an old bottle of hand sanitizer
  • Pour 1/3 part alcohol
  • Pour 1/3 part witch hazel (witch hazel is optional, I like its astringent properties)
  • Add 10-20 drops of vitamin E oil
  • Shake then apply and rub in until dry

Method #3: Alcohol

  • Use straight rubbing alcohol
  • Be warned that this method will dry out your hands, be sure to use lotion immediately after applying

Honestly, I won’t be buying hand sanitizer ever again. This is so easy and A LOT can be made for very little money.

Enjoy!
