    YOU’RE DONE! Isn’t that easy?

    May 2024 Preparedness Challenge –

    This month’s challenge:

Go to the store and get 8 cans of food of your choice. If you have to spread this out throughout the month, that’s fine! Take your time, or, just go out and get it right now! Whatever works best for you.

When you’re done, comment on this post and tell me which 8 canned foods you got.

Please be honest. This is meant to be a challenge for anyone and everyone on their preparedness journey and reward those who do the challenge. I reserve the right to ask for picture proof of the canned goods or even a receipt with the date(s) of purchase. Let’s not ruin it for everyone and let’s just have a good time with the challenge!

    1. I got over 8 cans of canned corn. It’s the one thing I haven’t been successful with in canning my own. So we always stock up on that each time we go to the store.

      1. Went today purchase tuna, chicken, luncheon meat, beans.
Protein is a plus in survival situations, and the longer the shelf life is better.
I also do a lot of home canning of vegetables/meats/soups/preserves/jellies etc which helps reduce my trips to the store and has a longer self life.

    2. Canned chicken and cannellini beans this month!

    3. I got 6 cans of Dinty Moore stew (gotten so expensive!) and 6 cans of Nalley’s Turkey chili. I try to get a few extra cans when I go shopping, last week I got a few cans of tuna fish. The trip before that I got cans of fruit on sale. I think I’m going to try to grab a can of the stew every trip now so it will be more cost effective. Great idea, Morgan!!!

      1. Hey Timmy! You are the winner! Please email me https://roguepreparedness.com/contact/
so we can get your mylar package to you!
        Congrats!

    4. Hi Morgan,
I bought 2 cans of Chicken Chunks, 2 Cans of Spaghetti O’s with Meatballs, and one each of Black Beans, Red Beans, Beef Stew, and Chili.
      Have a great weekend!

    5. I picked up a 4 pack of green beans, 4 cans of tuna in water, and Dollar Tree has the larger size of chicken noodle soup so I grabbed 4 of them too!

    6. This is a great challenge! I got 12 cans of vegies. A little bit at a time!

    7. Mixture of vegetables.

    8. Just picked up a case of green beans at Sam’s Club – our favorite canned veggie. I’m trying to grow enough I won’t have to buy more if I can my own.

    9. Morgan, this is a great challenge. It should help those just beginning to prep to not be overwhelmed and just do it. I bought 4 cans chicken, corned beef hash, crushed pineapple, roasted red peppers, 1 can dog food (must prepare for our pets). These are already on my Wal-Mart order and I’m sure I will add more.

    10. All vegetables. Try and get a few cans every week.

    11. Soup! I like the progressive brand. We got 2 Italian wedding, 2 chicken noodle, 2 slit pea, and 2 chicken and rice.

    12. It doesn’t take much to get started. Be smart in your selections and get things that you’ll actually eat and hopefully enjoy. Thrive not just survive

    13. Tuna, corn, hearts of palm, pickles, olives, tomatoes, and stuffed grape leaves. Next week will be beans, pineapple and peaches, mushrooms, green beans, and chickpeas. Then we rotate what is in the pantry by date and do it again.

    14. We get at least 4 cans of beans every month. I make quite a bit of Chilli. I also love it when my local grocery store has sales on cans of soup. I got 12 cans for emergency meals for the hubs when I just don’t get the chance to make him dinner.

    15. Three cans of mac and cheese, three cans of cheese ravioli, and three cans of chili with beans. My daughter likes the Mac and cheese, my wife is pescatarian and can eat the cheese ravioli, and I like the chili. I also like to mix the chili with the mac and cheese for a super quick chili mac!

    16. Morgan this is awesome 👍 I will plan on n spreading this challenge out. Try to find some deals. Will post when I do!!

    17. Tuna! We bought some canned tuna today. It’s such a great protein resource. Usually buy them at aldi since they are about 10-15 cents cheaper than Sam’s. But I noticed a few months ago that Sam’s tuna has a longer expiration date so due to that well buy from Sam’s.
Morgan , thank you for all the encouragement you give!!

      1. Great challenge! I purchased 4 cans of kidney beans for chili, and 4 cans of pineapple tidbits because my kids love it on pizza and we need something fun in our pantry too.
